‘The job of my dreams’ - Ankit’s journey of becoming a software developer at Microsoft

“It feels like I am living in a parallel universe”, says Ankit Kumar, who has acquired the job of his dreams through sheer hard work and dedication. Ankit was born and brought up in Ranchi, Ankit completed his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication in his hometown, Ranchi. But he failed to receive the practical training and knowledge that was needed for him to secure a job in the tech industry. 

He found it extremely challenging to break into the field and instead pursued government jobs. He also started earning money by involving himself in entertainment events like mimicry, stand-up comedy, and the like. 

Ankit’s Career Transformation with Newton School 

Despite struggling with poor grades and lacking an IT background, Ankit always knew that he wanted to work in the tech industry. Although Ankit had the right motivation, he could not qualify for a decent-paying job. He was also unaware that he had the option to upskill his career and establish himself in the tech industry, without necessarily having a Computer Science background. 

Just when he thought he could not do anything to help his situation, he learned that his friend from a textile background got placed at a top tech company. This inspired Ankit to research upskilling courses. That's when he discovered Newton School, a tech training institute, and decided to enroll himself in the full stack development course. 

At Newton School, Ankit worked tirelessly to hone his programming and software development skills. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, he remained committed to his goal and never gave up. All of his hard work eventually paid off, and he landed a job at Microsoft, one of the world's most prestigious tech firms.

Where is Ankit today? 

Today, Ankit is working as a software developer at Microsoft. Before joining Newton School, Ankit never imagined that he could ever be placed at a reputed multinational company like Microsoft.
