It is no less than a battle to change the course of a career in today’s rapidly changing world, for it waits for none. However, Rishab did not hesitate from taking charge and leading his career towards the goals he always wanted to achieve. Today, Rishab is a full stack developer.
Rishab pursued Petroleum Engineering at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) in Dehradun and graduated in the year 2019. Although he started working in the Operations department at an ed-tech company right after graduation, he was not satisfied with his work life.
Rishab wanted to establish himself in the tech industry but failed to find the guidance and motivation to change his career trajectory.
After a lot of consideration and discussions with friends and family, Rishab decided to upskill his career to a new level of growth. This is when he joined the Full Stack Development course at Newton School.
Since Rishab did not belong to the Computer Science department, he focused on learning the basics of coding with great dedication. During the span of 8-12 months, he formed a trustful relationship with his mentors and also his batch mates. With this trust and comfort, Rishab continued learning Full Stack and with the help of flexible class timings, he also managed his work.
“Whenever I used to feel stuck, the mentors came to my rescue with their industry-relevant knowledge. And along with guidance, they also encouraged me greatly”, said Rishab during a conversation.
According to Rishab, the most helpful element of the course were the mock interviews. Although he cleared the first rounds with ease, he struggled a bit during the mid-level interviews. But with continuous practice, Rishab was able to clear them all. He later mentioned, “The mock interviews not only helped me land a job, but they continue to be of great value even today.”
Rishab soon realised that his learning process needed him to dedicate more time, which is why he quit his job midway through the course and generated more time for his future aspirations. He completed all his tasks, assignments, and projects regularly and with great commitment.
Today, Rishab is working as a Full Stack Developer at a leading advertising company called Moshi Moshi and he is currently based in Bangalore.
As per Rishab, this is only the beginning of a new journey and he has even greater goals to achieve. However, he is more confident and assured now as he has made his own position in the industry where he always wanted to be.
In one word, he described his journey with Newton School, and that word is ‘perseverance’.
When asked what message he would like to give to aspiring software developers, Rishab said, “If you are procrastinating and wondering if this upskill course will help you, just trust the process and start working towards it. Everything else will follow.”
